Our annual summer BBQ took place this year at the end of summer in the little town of Storkow to the southeast of Berlin. On this occasion, our long-time member Angelika had offered us her summer place, built by her grandfather more than ninety years ago. She spent a lot of time and effort to prepare her cosy house and the large garden for such a big crowd. More than fifty members and their families came to the event and enjoyed a sunny afternoon in a relaxed atmosphere. Food and drink were abundant as always. Our members had brought a variety of international salads and desserts to complement the meat.
The generous buffet of the barbecue was topped by the arrival of a suckling pig, freshly roasted by a local butcher. After enjoying the meal and catching up with our friends, many of us went for a walk to the nearby lake (some even went swimming!).
Our special thanks go to our gracious hostess Angelika and to our energetic social event coordinator Diana who demonstrated once more her exceptional organizational skills. We also thank her husband Gernot for keeping the grill going and all the members who brought delicious dishes.
