BIWC’s Fashion Show November 2010

The fashion show team (Ferah Laue, Corinna Stiebing, Anna Mlynarek, Penny Fischer, Ingrid Fraley and Iris Büchner) wrote the following report on this spectacular event:

“Glitz, light, cameras, red carpet and action were the order of the day at BIWC’s charity event “Women for Women” which took centre stage at Vattenfall’s historic Heizkraftwerk in Moabit. The BIWC staged it fabulous fashion show attended by almost 300 people at this most unique location, with added elements such as background music and a screen projector. €12.000 were raised and they will be donated to the Hestia Frauenhaus, a charity close to our hearts, to enable them to purchase a Ford transporter to use to securely transport ladies and children staying at the Frauenhaus.

At 15:00 the first guests arrived and enjoyed a coffee and cake buffet followed by the official opening of the event at 16:00.

The fashion show showcased chic, colourful creations from local designers (Hut up, Christine Birkle, Claudia Skoda, Bernadett Penkov and Nanna Kuckuck). The collections wowed and mesmerised the audience with their detail, glamour, craftsmanship and diverse vibrant colours. The show featured 16 models who walked the ramp, showing off styles ranging from day wear to evening wear, short stylish dresses, knitted and handmade felt outfits and bags, to full-length gowns. The outfits were wearable, gorgeous, crazy, sexy and cool. The models donned the garments and graced the runway displaying elegance, glamour and sophistication. The choreography highlighted the style, as did the lively Master of Ceremonies, Ola der Schwede.

After the show, we celebrated with wine and canapés. There was a lot of excitement and joy when the top tombola prizes were drawn. Two business-class air tickets went to two of our Club members.

We were very fortunate in having 41 enthusiastic sponsors who helped us to stage this event and in addition the wonderful backstage teams, hair stylists, dressers, make-up artists and others too numerous to mention. We are very grateful for their enduring enthusiasm and unfailing support.

To conclude, we would like to thank all of you for your support which contributed in making this event a huge success. After many months of hard work and preparation, we are very pleased to have achieved our goal of raising funds as well as awareness for this worthy cause, the Hestia Frauenhaus, and providing an entertaining afternoon for our Club members and guests.”
