Guided tour of the Olympic Stadium and visit to the Glockenturm (BellTower)

The Olympic Stadium was originally built for the 1936 Summer Olympics. The area suffered little damage in World War II, and after the war the British army used the northern part as its headquarters until 1994. From 1951 to 2005, the Olympischer Platz housed a giant radio antenna. The stadium has a strong footballing tradition, but is used for other sports as well. It once held the world record for numbers attending a baseball game, thought to be over 110,000. After visiting the Olympic Stadium there will be the opportunity to visit the Glockenturm, a short walk away, and enjoy the amazing view from the top!

Visit to Bölschestraße in Friedrichshagen

Due to popular demand we will once again explore the south-east of Berlin, and will visit Bölschestraße in Friedrichshagen. There are quaint buildings, nice little shops (including a famous chocolate shop) and much more, in this village within the city. We will start at Friedrichshagen
S-Bahn station from where we will walk to Großer Müggelsee. Weather permitting you can have a swim in the nearby Seebad, so bring your bikinis. We can stop for lunch in the “Alter Ballsaal im Bräustübel Friedrichshagen”, or in another local restaurant. Nearby, the Spreetunnel gives pedestrians access to the other shore. On our way back to the
S-Bahn we can visit the Christopherus Kirche or the famous Lichtspiele Friedrichshagen, a very old film theater. Guests are welcome.
