The three years spent on the Executive Committee (EC) gave me a wonderful opportunity to get acquainted with lots of members as well as working alongside very dedicated ladies who gave freely of their time in finding new activities for members to enjoy. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all of our Special Interest and Neighbourhood Group Coordinators, not forgetting our hardworking Social Events Team.
Our many hardworking and dedicated volunteers are celebrated and thanked by the EC for the work they do in helping to make the Club a fun and dynamic organisation to belong to. Since joining the Club, I have seen an increase in evening and weekend activities, reaching out to our working members who cannot attend daytime activities. If you have an idea for an activity, send the EC or Special Interest Group Coordinators an email; they are open and will welcome your suggestions and ideas.
If you would like to become more involved in the Club, not only attending activities but learning more about the processes involved, I highly recommend you consider volunteering for either an open EC position or other openings in the Club. You will, in turn, be rewarded with lots of new friendships.
Carol was not inactive for very long! An opportunity arose for her to become the Coordinator of the Business Lunch Special Interest Group and she has happily been doing that since the summer of 2016. At our Annual General Meeting in 2018, Carol became the Club’s new President.
