Our Club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held in May 2022, and we welcome new members to our team on the Executive Committee (EC).

During our EC meetings, we discussed what vision of the Club we have and how our Club is different from other international clubs in Berlin. In addition to nearly thirty years of successful existence, the BIWC is the club for women of different nationalities who wish to share their cultures and learn about others. Mentioning the national days of each member on our Facebook private page gives us a regular reminder of the wonderful diversity of our membership! We are hoping to expand the Club’s tradition of visiting embassies and learning more about them. We will celebrate our 30th anniversary in October 2022, and we have invited sister clubs from other cities to join us in our celebration.

We are also hoping that our members who were missing activities and social gatherings during the pandemic will actively participate again from now on. The Meet & Greet get-togethers are always very successful — we have welcomed new members and had a wonderful time together. Recently we had our summer Lunch in White, which was such a beautiful event, attended by many members. Thank you to Cook In & Dine Out coordinators Diana and Natasha! We also met with Special Interest and Neighbourhood Group Coordinators and learned that many activities are being planned for the future.

We are thankful to all members who not only serve others but also voluntarily donate their free time, even resources, to make other members’ lives more colourful — thank you to all of you! Without your energy this Club would not be what it is today.

And of course we are hoping to get new active members to keep our BIWC community growing.

Last year we approved a donation of €500  to the German Red Cross in support of the flood victims in Germany–we were happy to be able to help. Members who attended a Meet & Greet evening event also raised money for clothing and personal items for some Ukrainian families in need of support.

Stay safe, enjoy warm days, and God bless you all!
